Guidance to Lead a Life as Expected by Allah is Mentioned in the Quran so that We can Pass the Test
Now, the question arises here is how we human beings are going to face and pass the test of Allah. What is the course outline? Who will guide and prescribe the norms, so that if one follows them, the key to pass the test is guaranteed ? where are we going to find all of these.
The answer is the Allah’s Message the Quran, where in the guidance to lead a life as expected by Allah is mentioned so that we can pass his test. Quran guides mankind their way of life and clearly mentions the criteria to pass the Allah’s test. Therefore, one has to understand Quran and try their best to follow the instructions mentioned therein. Allah clarifies this point through the Quran. Let us ponder over few Ayats of the Quran which mention the importance of Quran as a guidance to Mankind.
Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah 2: Ayat 2
“This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah;”
Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah 2: Ayat 185
“Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur´an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs)for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if anyone is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.”
Allah says in Surah Al-Imran 3: Ayat 110
“Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.”
Allah says in Surah AlI mran 3: Ayat 138 and 139
138 “Here is a plain statement to men, a guidance and instruction to those who fear Allah!”
139 So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith.
Allah says in Surah Al-An’am 6: Ayat 155
“And this is a Book which We have revealed as a blessing: so follow it and be righteous, that ye may receive mercy:”
Allah says in Surah Al Araf 7: Ayat 52
“For We had certainly sent unto them a Book, based on knowledge, which We explained in detail, – a guide and a mercy to all who believe.”
Allah says in Surah Yunus 10: Ayat 57
“O mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts, – and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy.”
Allah says in Surah Ibrahim 14: Ayat 1
“A. L. R. A Book which We have revealed unto thee, in order that thou mightiest lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light – by the leave of their Lord – to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in power, worthy of all praise !”
Note: As per Tafsir of Ibn Kaseer, this Ayat is addressed to Muhammad (SAW) in Quran but there is a learning for us in it as well . The Quran describes its other function as the presentation of the Prophetic Mission, which is aimed at guidance of humanity, by delivering it from darkness and leading it towards light.
Allah says in Surah An-Nahl 16: Ayat 64
“And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe.”
Allah says in Surah Al-Isra 17: Ayat 9
“Verily this Qur´an doth guide to that which is most right (or
stable), and giveth the Glad Tidings to the Believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a magnificent reward.”
Allah says in Surah Yaseen 36: Ayat 69,70
69 We have not instructed the (Prophet) in Poetry, nor is it meet for him: this is no less than a Message and a Qur´an making things clear:
70 That it may give admonition to any (who are) alive, and that the charge may be proved against those who reject (Truth).
Allah says in Surah Sad 38: Ayat 29
“(Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition.”
Surah An-Nahl 38: Ayat 89
“One day We shall raise from all Peoples a witness against them, from amongst themselves: and We shall bring thee as a witness against these (thy people): and We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things, a Guide, a Mercy, and Glad Tidings to Muslims.”
Allah says in Surah Az-Zumar 39: Ayat 29
“Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for (instructing) mankind. He, then, that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose their affairs.”
